Vesta Tilly (May 13, 1864 – September 16, 1952) was an English male impersonator. Tilly was the foremost music hall male impersonator of her day; she was frequently compared with Julian Eltinge, the foremost female impersonator.
Her most famous songs were Burlington Bertie and Following in Father's Footsteps. Her autobiography, Recollections of Vesta Tilley, was published in 1934.
She was born Matilda Alice Powles in Worcester, Worcestershire, England; her married name was Lady De Frece. Tilly died in London aged 88.
