Hanna Krall is a Polish-Jewish writer living in Poland. Some of her books include Hipnoza, and to ty jestes Daniel. Her most famous works, which have been translated into English, are The Subtenant and To Outwit God, which are usually included in one volume. The Subtenant describes her experiences as a child hidden during the Second World War and the aftermath, while To Outwit God is an interview with Marek Edelman, talking about the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and the Solidarity movement.
