Colin Thiele (born 1920 in Eudunda, South Australia) is a teacher and writer. Thiele is probably best-known as an author of books describing life in rural Australia. The characters in his books are the kinds of people he would have met in his life. Several of his books have been made into movies—Sun on the Stubble, The Fire in the Stone, Blue Fin and Storm Boy.
