Harry Carroll (November 28, 1892 in Atlantic City —December 26, 1962 in Mt. Carmel, Pennsylvania) was an American songwriter. He was a self taught musician and began playing piano in movie houses while still in grade school. He later moved to New York and entertained in the evenings at cafes and in vaudeville performances. He was hired by the Schubert Brothers Winter Garden productions as a contract writer in 1912.
He wrote several Broadway stage scores and some popular favorites: I'm Always Chasing Rainbows; By The Beautiful Sea and Trail of the Lonesome Pine, among them. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
