Laura Wright (born Laura Sisk on September 11, 1970 in Washington D.C.) is an American soap opera actress.
She was raised in Clinton, Maryland, and graduated from Surrattsville High School in 1988. She married architect John Wright in October 1995 and changed her name accordingly. The couple have a son, John Michael and a daughter, Lauren. Laura has an older brother Jeffrey and older sister Pamela.
Her first soap gig was the role of younger Rescott sister Allison "Ally" Rescott Alden Bowman on Loving (1991-1995). When that show ended, she reprised her role on spinoff soap The City (1995-1997). After that show was also canceled, she was offered the contract role of Reva's half-sister Cassie Layne Winslow on Guiding Light, which she still portrays today.
In September 2005, Wright announced that she decided to exit her role of Guiding Light after eight years with the soap. The role has been recast with Daytime newcomer Nicole Forester. That same month, Wright has confirmed that she will join the cast of General Hospital as Carly Alcazar after Jennifer Bransford was let go after five months. .Wright's first and last airdate are on the same day. November 4th,2005 is when Laura exits as Cassie on "Guiding Light" and first airs as Carly on "General Hospital".
Laura resides in Los Angeles with her Husband,John and Children, John-Michael and Lauren.
