From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia Heikki Ritavuori, originally Rydberg (born 23 March 1880 in Turku, died 14 February 1922 in Helsinki) was a Finnish politician in the Progressive party and minister of internal affairs. He served as minister in the first and second governments of Ventola from 1919 to 1922 for a total of 526 days.
Ritavuori was the only person to become a victim of a political assassination during Finland's independence. In 1922, the extreme-right activist Ernst Tandefelt shot Ritavuori at his home door in Töölö as a protest against Finland's politics during the so-called "tribal wars".
