From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia Paul Barker (born February 8, 1958 in Palo Alto, California), was bassist, producer and engineer with the industrial rock band Ministry, and is often known by a number of pseudonyms, most commonly as Hermes Pan. He joined Ministry in 1986 for the Twitch album, before which he was a member of The Blackouts with his brother Roland Barker. Although many Ministry collaborators came and went in the nearly two decade period after Barker joined the band, he and Al Jourgensen, as founder of the band, were the only continuous members. The dynamic between these two different personalities came to shape Ministry's sound, along with a number of side-projects which they were involved in together. As such, many fans were surprised by Barker's departure from the band in 2004 for personal reasons.
