From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia Daryl Palumbo, from Long Island, New York, is the lead singer for alternative post-hardcore band Glassjaw and electronic dance rock band Head Automatica. Born February 10, 1979 was originally a member of long-island Straight-Edge band XbustedX as a youngster. However, he has since abandoned the Straight Edge movement. Palumbo suffers from Crohn's disease and his illness offered much inspiration for Glassjaw's debut album Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence. He is a highly respected vocalist continually compared to the great Mike Patton.
Palumbo has worked with many different artists including: Alien Ant Farm, The Movielife, Every Time I Die, Finch (US band), Cage Kennylz and Dan the Automator's Handsome Boy Modelling School. In interviews Palumbo has expressed an interest to work with British Singer/Song-writer and Producer Nick Lowe.
In October 2005 Palumbo appeared as a guest vocalist on the track, No way out on the album Roadrunner United. The album was a co-operation between past and current bands signed to Roadrunner Records.
Trivia
Palumbo is an extremely big fan of 80's British band Squeeze and the Godzilla universe. He is considered an anglophile and loves British comedies such as Alan Partridge and Little Britain.
The naming of the band Glassjaw was inspired by Daryl's father Jack, who was a successful boxer.
