Alexandria Borstein (born February 15, 1971 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American actress, voice actress, writer and comedian.
Borstein is best known for playing Miss Swan on the edgy sketch comedy show MADtv where she was a cast member and writer. She is now a producer and primary staff writer for the FOX animated sit-com Family Guy, on which she also voices the character of Lois Griffin.
In Power Rangers Zeo, she provided the voice of Queen Machina, the queen of the Machine Empire. Borstein also played the role of the principal in The Lizzie McGuire Movie and the best friend of Halle Berry in Catwoman.
After Family Guy was cancelled in 2000, Borstein took the role of Sookie St. James on Gilmore Girls. However, when Family Guy was "un"cancelled that same year, her role was replaced by Melissa McCarthy. Borstein instead guest starred in several episodes as the harpist Drella in season one. She returned in seasons three and five to play Miss Celine, a middle-aged celebrity fashion advisor.
She is married to actor Jackson Douglas, who also stars on Gilmore Girls as Jackson Melville, Sookie's husband.
