Gwen Taylor (born 19 February 1939 in Derby, England) is a British actress. She has appeared in many television programmes in including, Z Cars, Murder Most Horrid, Yes, Minister, Inspector Morse and Midsomer Murders. However she is famous for her role in two sitcoms, Amy Pearce in Duty Free from 1984 to 1986 and Barbara Liversidge in the sitcom, Barbara which she played from 1995 until 2003.
In the 1970's, she was one of the regular's on Eric Idle's Rutland Weekend Television. She also appeared in other Monty Python spin-offs such as The Life of Brian, Ripping Yarns and as Chastity and Mrs Mountbatten in the Beatles parody The Rutles.
She currently plays the role of Peggy Armstrong in the drama Heartbeat.
