Nigel Planer (born February 22, 1955 in London) is a British actor, novelist and playwright. He was educated at Westminster School and Sussex University.

He is most widely known in Britain for his work in television comedy and satire, including:

  • The Young Ones (on which he played Neil, the hippie)
  • Filthy, Rich & Catflap

  • The Magic Roundabout (English adaptation and narrator on previously unseen episodes)
