From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia James Urbaniak is an actor. He is known best for his potrayal of underground cartoonist Robert Crumb in the motion picture American Splendor. That film was based on the life of Harvey Pekar as portrayed in his independent autobiographical comic American Spelndor. James Urbaniak also founded the Arden Theater Group. In the R. Crumb Handbook, Robert Crumb claimed that he felt his potrayal was caricaturistic, while Harvey Pekar has claimed on the DVD of the film that he felt the potrayal was excellent. He also provided the voice of Dr. Thaddeus Venture on the Adult Swim program The Venture Bros. created by Jackson Publick.
