From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia Griffin Dunne (born June 8, 1955 in New York, New York) is an American actor. He is the son of producer/writer Dominick Dunne and brother of actress Dominique.
As of 2004 he has appeared as an actor in nearly 40 films and TV movies, starting with The Other Side of the Mountain in 1975. He has produced and/or directed more than 10 other features and has made numerous TV appearances, including Frasier, Saturday Night Live, Alias and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
Notable Performances
My Girl (1991) as Jake Bixler, Johnny Dangerously (1984) as Tommy Kelly, After Hours (1985) as Paul Hackett, and An American Werewolf in London (1981) as Jack Goodman.
Jack in "American Werewolf" is perhaps his most remembered role as the sidekick to David Kessler, who was played by David Naughton. The duo was savaged by a werewolf in Scotland, gradually turned David into one himself.
Dunne's turn is macabrely humorous as he returns throughout the film in the company of David's other, progressively more putrid victims to implore him to kill himself before he turns into a full-fledged monster and wreaks havoc on the terrified citizens of central London.
