From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia Stephen Maynard Clark (April 23, 1960 - January 8, 1991) was the Co-Lead guitarist for Def Leppard until his death. Clark was found in his flat by his girlfriend at the time, Janie Dean, after he had overdosed on anti depressants and alcohol after long periods of battling alcoholism. He is best remembered for the powerful riffs that drove Def Leppard's sound during their heyday in the 1980s, especially on the songs "Wasted" (from On Through The Night) and "Bringin' On The Heartbreak" (from High 'N' Dry) where both personified his talent on guitar because of their intensity and emotion. He can be heard on the albums On Through The Night, High 'N' Dry, Pyromania, Hysteria as well as on some of the songs that were featured on Retro Active. And he is very well represented on the Def Leppard compilations Vault, Best Of and Rock Of Ages: The Definitive Collection. He also contributed songwriting on the band's 1992 album Adrenalize before his untimely passing. Steven Clark was one of the Terror Twins. The other twin was Phil Collen.
