From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia Lillian Hall-Davis (born June 23, 1898 in London; died October 25, 1933 in London) was a British film leading actress during the silent era.
The daughter of a London taxi driver, her films included 1924's Quo Vadis, and The Ring (1927) and The Farmer's Wife (1928) both directed by Alfred Hitchcock.
She failed to make the transfer to the talkies and killed herself at home in Golders Green by turning on the gas supply and cutting her own throat.
