Sister Elizabeth Kenny was an Australian nurse who achieved renown for her innovative treatment of Poliomyelitis before a vaccine was discovered by Jonas Salk. Her life story was told in the movie Sister Kenny.
Sister Kenny was born in 1880 in Warialda in New South Wales. She died in 1952 in Toowooomba in Queensland.
