Jerry Doyle as Michael Garibaldi in Babylon 5

Jerry Doyle (born 16 July, 1956 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American actor best known for his role as Michael Garibaldi on the 1990's science fiction television series Babylon 5. His other science fiction acting credits include Sliders and Gangster World.

Previously a corporate jet pilot and a stockbroker, Doyle made an abrupt career change into acting in 1991, and Babylon 5 was his first significant role. In 2000, Doyle unsuccessfully ran for the United States House of Representatives in California's 24th Congressional district (Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, to the northwest of Los Angeles), as a Republican. He later severed his ties with the party, and now declares himself an independent.

Doyle is the ex-husband of actress Andrea Thompson who played the role of telepath Talia Winters in the first two seasons of Babylon 5.

Doyle is now a talk radio host on several networks nationwide, discussing politics, current events, and popular culture. On his radio show he coined the phrase "Grapefruit Mentality" referring to the public's fascination with issues and celebrities that don't really matter. He currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada with his fiancée.
