Maury Chaykin (born July 27, 1949 in Brooklyn, New York) is a Canadian actor. He was born and raised in New York City, and studied drama at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He subsequently moved to Toronto, Ontario, where he has resided ever since; his mother was Canadian.
He is the nephew of film director George Bloomfield. He is married to actress Susannah Hoffman, with whom he has one daughter.
Chaykin's film credits include WarGames, Mrs. Soffel, Canada's Sweetheart: The Saga of Hal C. Banks, Dances with Wolves, My Cousin Vinny, The Adjuster, Exotica, Buried on Sunday, Whale Music, Owning Mahowny and Being Julia.
He has also had television roles in the series Seeing Things, Emily of New Moon and A Nero Wolfe Mystery.
