Aleksandar Saša Đorđević

Aleksandar "Sasha" Djordjevic (Serbian: Александар "Саша" Ђорђевић; Aleksandar "Saša" Đorđević in Roman script) is a Serbian basketball player, born on August 26, 1967 in Belgrade. He is 6'2" (188 cm) and has played 108 games for National basketball team of Serbia and Montenegro. Professionally, Đorđević played for KK Partizan, Philips, Teamsystem, Portland Trail Blazers, Barcelona, and Real Madrid.

Đorđević twice won a trophy of champion of Yugoslavia (1987; 1992.), cup of Yugoslavia (1989; 1992.), Cup of European champions (1992). with Partizan, championship of Spain (1997; 2000.), "Radivoj Korać" cup (1989; 1993; 1999.). He also won silver Olympic medal (1996.), gold medal on world championship (1998.) in Athens, gold medals on European championships (1991; 1995; 1997.), and bronze medals (1987; 1999.).

His last second three point shots in the final match of the cup of European champions (for Partizan), and on the match against Croatia (for national team), decided the winner, and Đorđević is mostly remembered because of that.

He is one of the ambassadors of good will, one of the founders of humanitarian organization "Group Seven", and the president of the Belgrade Marathon.

He parted from professional basketball on July 3rd, 2005 in an exhibition game before the home crowd of Belgrade, in which many of his co-players and once fierce opponents took part.
