From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia Chastity Bono (born March 4, 1969) is a human rights and gay rights advocate. She is also well-known for being the daughter of pop duo Sonny Bono and Cher. She was named after Cher's first feature film, which was released earlier in 1969.
Though she was outed by the Star in January 1990, Bono is now openly lesbian and has appeared in various national publications, including on the covers of Out and The Advocate magazines. She is a member of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation as well as the Human Rights Campaign.
Bono came under fire by the gay community when she made comments about the television show Ellen, starring openly lesbian comedian Ellen Degeneres. In particular she stated that the show was "too gay." This lead to speculation that Bono was a self-loathing lesbian, something she has since vehemently denied.
She is scheduled to be a participant of VH1's Celebrity Fit Club 3. This show is a celebrity fitness show that monitors weight loss.
