A back injury ended his tennis aspirations; however, he was quickly discovered for modeling and soon after fell into acting. Named one of the "50 Most Beautiful People in the World" by People Magazine in 2002, Kodjoe starred in the short-lived sitcom Second Time Around (2004-2005) with wife Nicole Ari Parker.
