From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia Robert Hamer was a British film director and screenwriter, best known for his work at Ealing Studios in the 1940s, including the celebrated comedy Kind Hearts and Coronets (1949), with Dennis Price and Alec Guinness.
His other films included Dead of Night (as co-director) (1945), It Always Rains on Sunday (1947), Father Brown (1954) and School for Scoundrels (1960).
