Thomas Mark Harmon (born September 2, 1951 in Burbank, California) is a American actor. Currently the star of CBS series NCIS, Harmon is probably still best known for playing Dr. Bobby Caldwell on St. Elsewhere and Mr. Freddy Shoop in Summer School.
Harmon is married to Pam Dawber, and is the ex-brother-in-law of Ricky Nelson. He is the son of noted football player and Heisman Trophy winner Tom Harmon.
Mark attended UCLA and, following in his father's athletic footsteps, was the starting quarterback for the UCLA Bruins in 1972 and 1973. He was also awarded the National Football Foundation Award for All-Round Excellence in 1973.
Mark has also followed his mother's career. Elyse Knox was well-known as a film actress.
