Wyllis Oswald Cooper (1899 - 1955) was a writer and director. He is perhaps best known for creating the radio programs Lights Out in 1934, and Quiet, Please, which ran from 1947 to 1949.

Cooper wrote the 1939 film Son Of Frankenstein, and wrote a few Mr. Moto films.

Cooper served with the American Expeditionary Force during World War 1, and was gassed in the Argonne .

After the war, he worked for CBS in a number of capacities before turning to script writing. (He retired from the National Guard in 1933.) and began working as a writer.
