Manfred Schnelldorfer (*2 May 1943 in Munich, Bavaria, Germany) is a german figure skater, world and Olympic champion.

Manfred Schnelldorfer won his first competition already with the age of 8. His parents, both in Germany quite famous figure skater coaches, coached him. He started for the club Munich ERC and therefore for the Federal Republic of Germany (West-Germany).

At his one and only German junior championships he came in second behind Hans-Jürgen Bäumler, twice world champion in pairs. Already the following year at the German senior championships Manfred Schnelldorfer won. His rival Hans-Jürgen Bäumler only came in 4th place and turned to pairs.

Later Manfred Schnelldorfer studied [architecture]] for 4 years, bug could not graduate due to his figure skating activities.

Highlight of his career was becoming Olympic champion in 1964 in Innsbruck. His victory was a surprise. Favorite was Alain Calmat from France, who won the Europeans between 1962 and 1964 and was silvermedalist at the Worlds in 1963.

Manfred Schnelldorfer was all together 8 times German champion, once worldchampion in 1964, 3 time bronze medallist and twice silver medallist at the Europeans. After his amateur career he turned pro and worked with an Iceshow for 4 years.

He also was pop singer (German Shlagersänger) and actor. After that he became a coach and sport teacher. He was the first West-German national coach for figure skating between 1974 and 1981.

Manfred Schnelldorfer lives in Munich and owns some sport shops. He is married and has two children.
