Jules Naudet and Gédéon Naudet are French filmmakers who were in New York City at the time of the September 11 attacks. They obtained footage of the first plane flying into the North tower of the World Trade Center.
The Naudet brothers were in the process of making a documentary on New York firefighters, following Antonio "Tony" Benetatos, a rookie officer or "probie," through his experiences in academy training and into a firehouse. Their footage became, instead, some of the most comprehensive on-site coverage of the 9/11 attacks in New York.
Along with footage shot by Pavel Hlava, the Naudets' footage is the only known video of American Airlines Flight 11—the first plane—hitting the North Tower.
