Nigel Harman is a British actor who is most famous for his current role as Dennis Rickman in the UK soap opera EastEnders.
Nigel was born on August 11, 1973 in Purley, London, England, and started acting at an early age. His father, a bank manager, was into amateur dramatics, and this interest passed on to Nigel who did his first paid job, a stock cube advert, at just 8 years old. He did several adverts as a child, but went on into the theatre, appearing in productions such as Privates on Parade, Much Ado About Nothing, Summer Holiday, and he was in the original cast of world hit Mamma Mia!.
Although successful in the theatre, Nigel decided to move into television, and appeared in Red Cap, Doctors and Coupling before winning his role as Dennis in EastEnders, for which he is now nationally well known.
His first episode as Dennis immediately attracted the attention of thousands of ladies throughout the country, and he now has many fansites devoted to him all over the Internet. Many people are devoted to his character Dennis getting together with his adopted sister Sharon, because they're in love, but this had always been stopped before by their father Den (not Sharon's real father), but now he's dead, who knows what will happen? Fans of this love have named it "Shannis", and the less favourable Dennis and Zoe matching: "Zonnis".
Nigel is a skilled dancer from all his time in Musical Theatre, and he can juggle, as he demonstrated in an interview with Michael Parkinson.
