Dik Browne (11 August 1917–4 June 1989) was the New York City-born author of Hägar the Horrible, a comic strip enjoyed by audiences around the world. The comic is now being handled by his son, Chris. Browne also created and drew Hi and Lois, which was written by Beetle Bailey creator Mort Walker and is now drawn by his son Chance.
