Henry William Dalgliesh Cavill(born May 5th, 1983 in Jersey, Channel Islands) is an actor. He goes by Henry Cavill. Cavill attended Stowe School, a boarding school where he acted in many plays.
He has appeared in several movies since then, including 2002's The Count of Monte Cristo and the upcoming 2006 film Tristan & Isolde
He tried out for the lead role in Batman Begins but lost out to Christian Bale. In 2005, he became one of the younger contenders to take over the role of James Bond and actually screentested for the part. Rumor has it the choice was whittled down to Daniel Craig and him.
