Arsen Dedić is a Croatian singer, musician, songwriter and composer.
A native of Å ibenik, Arsen Dedić became a household name in the 1960s, thanks to pop music festivals and his brand of music, which was at first influenced by Dalmatian folklore. Through the decades Dedić became one of the most respected musicians in former Yugoslavia and mantained this reputation to this day. ÄorÄ‘e BalaÅ¡ević considers him to be the biggest influence on his own career.
Apart from writing songs, Dedić also wrote music for films, especially those directed by Antun Vrdoljak.
Arsen Dedić is married to Gabi Novak, veteran pop singer in her own right.
His son Matija Dedić is also one of the most respected jazz musicians in Croatia.
