From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia Geoff Horsfield (born November 1, 1973 in Barnsley) is an English footballer who currently plays for West Bromwich Albion as a forward.
He started at Halifax Town in 1997. He scored 37 goals in 30 games, including two consecutive hat tricks in September of that year against Yeovil and Telford. He scored in every game in which he participated in the 1997/98 season when Halifax gained promotion.
In October 1998 he moved to Fulham for £300,000 and stayed at the club for two years. Though his scoring rate at the club was never as fast as it was while he was playing in the conference, he still found the net at a steady rate, scoring 22 league goals.
He was bought by Trevor Francis during the summer of 2000 for Birmingham City, and helped them in their climb to the Premiership in season 2002/03 before moving to Wigan Athletic. He scored on his debut for Wigan, against the team he would find himself moving to in December 2003, West Bromwich Albion.
Horsfield was a vital part of the team's makeup as he scored seven times in the season which brought them to the Premiership.
