Linvoy Primus, (born September 14, 1973 in Forest Gate), is an English football player. He currently plays for Portsmouth F.C. He is a central defender who can also play at right back.
The player began his career with Charlton Athletic F.C., but joined Barnet F.C. on a free transfer for the 1994/1995 season.
Primus carved out a reputation as an excellent defender during his time in north London, playing almost 150 games for the club before joining Reading F.C. for £250,000 for the 1997/1998 season. After establishing himself as an essential player for the Royals he was signed on a Bosman free transfer by then Portsmouth manager Tony Pulis for the 2000/2001 season.
Unfortuantly, injury ruled him out of action for six months in November of that season. He then struggled to get a game under new manager Graham Rix, with injury as well as selection policy, but the appointment of Harry Redknapp gave him a new lease of life, and Primus was a vital member of the side that won the First Division title in 2003.
The centre back was one of the team's most consistent performers the next season as they secured their place in the FA Premier League. Despite squad strengthening he kept his place for the 2004/2005 season and remains in the squad under new manager Alain Perrin for the 2005/06 season.
