Peter Arundell (born 8 November 1933 in Essex, England) was a Formula One driver who raced for the Lotus team. Prior to Formula One, he became a professional racing driver, after finishing his time at the Royal Air Force, competing with Lotus and Elva. In 1962 he won the British Formula Junior championship. He also won the Monaco Formula Junior race in 1961 and 1962. In 1963, while racing in Formula 2 at Reims, he had a spin and was hit a high speed by Richie Ginther; Arundell was thrown from the car in the impact, which resulted in him missing most of the 1965 season. Lotus boss Colin Chapman lept a car for him in 1966, although he failed to make any major results. At the end of that year he retired from Formula One, having completed only 11 races, achieving two podiums and scoring a total of 12 championship points. .
