From Wikipedia, the free Encyclopedia Elie Marcel Bayol (born 28 February 1914 in Marseille, France; dead 25 May 1995) was a Formula One driver who raced for the OSCA and Gordini teams. He started his career in Formula 2 races and hillclimbs around France in the early 1950s; his best result was a fourth place in the Circuit de Cadours, in 1951. In 1953 he was fourth again at Pau and got a pole position at Albi. He qualified sixth for the French Grand Prix at Reims but did not finish. He joined the Gordini team in 1954 with Jean Behra and finished fifth in Argentina and fourth at Pau. In 1956 he raced a few times but disappeared from single-seater racing.
